What does this converter do?

It projects a 3D STL mesh onto 2D and produces an SVG wireframe outline.

Is this a true technical drawing?

It is a simplified wireframe approximation. For precise drawings, use CAD tools.

What file size can I upload?

Most STL files up to tens of MB should work fine. Very large meshes may be slow.

How do I convert STL to 2D drawing?

Upload your STL and select a projection (Front/Top/Side/Isometric). We generate a 2D SVG wireframe you can edit in vector tools.

Can I open SVG in AutoCAD or Illustrator?

Yes. Most vector editors (Illustrator, Inkscape) open SVG directly. Some CAD apps can import SVG or convert via DXF.

Why is my SVG missing details?

This tool draws triangle edges as a wireframe. Internal occluded edges may be simplified. For hidden-line removal, use a CAD app.

Is STL to SVG conversion free and private?

How can I thicken lines or change colors?

Open the SVG in a vector editor and adjust stroke-width and colors globally or per path.
